Confession of an errant blogger

Around six weeks ago, my link to the Daily Prompt stopped working. At first I thought it was a one off, it’s happened before. Then it was ’48 hour thing’. After a week I had contacted support and no one had any clue why it wasn’t working.

This is where my confession kicks in. Without that push to make it on the page, my inclination to post dropped off. I’m not sure why, it’s not like I got a lot of traffic from it but I liked being there, you know? Suddenly I was going a day, two days, a week between posts. Maybe it was good that I broke that habit, maybe…

Meanwhile, my one year anniversary came and went. Oops. I missed it. So I thought I should scamper in and write a ‘yay blogging’ post and throw in a little apology for being MIA. I’m not going to promise to change because it smacks too much of a resolution and many years ago I made a resolution to never make another resolution and I’m not breaking that resolution. Got it? But I am still around, reading and liking, occasionally writing.

Anyway, happy blogging anniversary to me and thank you for sticking around.

    1. On a related side note…
I had the same problem with the daily post link shortly after I first started. For me I was putting the link within the body “linking” the word. Another blogger advised me to use the “HTML” feature and to paste it to the bottom of the blog all on it’s own and it’s worked since.

      1. Thanks Sheryl, it’s been a mostly fun journey πŸ™‚ As to the link thing, I have tried all manner of things, had WP support look into it, it’s a mystery. Just for kicks I tried what you said on this post and still nothing so I am resigned to the fact that the Daily Prompt just doesn’t love me any more πŸ˜‰

  1. Yay! On the one year anniversary and the mystery solved. I’m a habitual MIA blogger so I understand when people skip sometimes, but I do notice when my favorites go missing. Nice to see you again. BTW, I have a few pairs of shoes for you. : )

      1. I’ve strained the tendons connected to my big toe. The doctor said I probably “pissed them off” with my inappropriate choice of footware. He’s obviously never seen my black peep toe pumps or red ankle strap heels. Totally adorable!! Men just don’t understand.
